The following books are resources for librarians planning programs for very young children, including programming books, play books, and nursery rhymes.
Programming Books: Some of these rely on smaller divisions of the six to twenty-four month age range. I found all the chapters on programming for babies to be very helpful.

- Greene, Elin. Books, Babies, and Libraries: Serving Infants, Toddlers, their Parents and Caregivers. Chicago: ALA, 1991.
